Hello,

I have been trying to install a language pack for our forum which uses SMF 2.0.7, following the instructions here: http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Languages_-_How_do_I_add_a_new_language

QuoteOnce you have selected and downloaded the language that you want to install, extract the content somewhere on your computer and then via an FTP program, upload the contents so that the actual language files (ex: index.languagename.php) are located in: /Themes/default/languages. Note: You do not need to create another directory within the languages one: all you really need to do is upload the Themes directory included in the language package as the parent directory over the existing Themes directory, located in the root directory of your forum. This will not overwrite any existing theme files or language files, but will in effect simply add the extra files that were not previously there, in this case being the new language files. Assuming you have Enable user-selectable language support enabled in Admin > Configuration > Languages > Settings, users should now be able to select this language in their profile, on the Profile features > Account Settings page. Also the admin should now be able to make this the default language if desired by going to Admin > Configuration > Languages > Settings and selecting it in the Default Forum Language dropdown box.

I downloaded the language pack file from here: http://download.simplemachines.org/index.php?d=smf_2-0-rc1-1_cambodian-utf8;t=tar.gz
Then I extracted it and uploaded the extracted Themes directory to the appropriate place (over the existing Themes directory). But when I login then and try to find the language in the user profile settings, or also as Admin in the language configuration, it is not there. Not true anymore, but still a problem - see edit below.

Can someone tell me what I have been missing?

Thank you very much in advance for any hints and support. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: Now I found, it is there to be selected. Maybe I have been blind, or it took some time to change.
However, when I select Cambodian language in my user profile settings, it seems to be no change from English. (Other languages are working, like Ukrainian for example, with kyrillic looking letters, but with Cambodian, the standard English texts are displayed).

Look in the files themselves...   Are they files written in Cambodian?

Index.cambodian.php or index.cambodian-UTF8.php

Thank you. Sorry for my late reply. You are right. The files are in English.  ???

Seems to be just a template "yet to be translated".

Very well, we'll see what we can do.

Thanks!
