What I am looking for is a mod that will limit the amount of new topics membergroups can post per specified time limit.(1 new topic every 24 hours, 48, hours, 72, etc...) This limit could be set differently in each board and I would need to be able to change the settings for each individual member group per board as well...both post based groups as well as non post based. ( the settings could vary from board to board)

I know this mod here does exactly what I am looking for- http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=494061.0 , but if you look at the comments I made on page two of the comments/support for it, you will see that I am unable to get the settings to work in all of my boards. I really have tried everything in the world I can think of, and I just can't get the settings to save after a specific amount of boards are set.

I'm am really only looking for the ability to restrict new topics per board and not limit the amount of posts. I'm also not really interested in the calendar settings that Joker's mod has, so that part isn't really necessary for me.

If possible; I would also like the ability to change the message a member would see once they hit their new topic limit per board. That's not a deal breaker as I'm sure I could just edit the txt strings in the mod's language file, but it would be easier with a box in the admin section of this mod I could just type the message in.

If anyone is interested, please feel free to pm me, so we can get the ball rolling.  :D

I am using the default theme(although it would be nice to be able to use on a custom one as well)  and version 2.0.8. Thanks.

TBH, I would prefer to ask again Joker for help to understand and fix your issue
It's like trying to reinvent the wheel :P

Besides, this mod seems to work (it seems a local issue with your setup) and the Team usually doesn't allow duplicate mods unless they add something new. To create the exact same functionality just in a different package is usually not allowed ;)

Good luck ;)

I have a post limit mod, you can change the message the user sees when their reach their limit but its not on a per board level although it should be pretty easy to add it.

That makes sense margarett, but even though the team may not usually allow duplicate mods, there still are plenty of mods here that do the same thing (or very similar) as other mods, work on the same versions of smf; and some released pretty close to each other time wise.

Now I do fully understand what you saying, and I'll be happy to bump joker's mod again in a few days to see if he would still like first crack at it. However if he is too busy with other projects, or just not interested, I would still like to have this work and utilize something like this.

I can bump this one back up in a few weeks if he doesn't respond to his support topic. If he doesn't, perhaps someone would be willing to come up with another function that this mod could offer that joker's didn't; maybe that would be more acceptable. I would also be fine if someone was willing to write the mod just for me so that it wouldn't be on the smf site (I do understand that would probably cost more to do)

Bottom line, is that I would just like to be able to use this. ;)

You rock Suki, thanks. Can I pm you here or on your own site so we could discuss exactly what I would like; as well as what you would charge?
