Changing the « previous next » links to link to the next page?

How do I change the « previous next » links in a topic to link to the next page within that topic instead of linking to the next topic?

Hmm...good question. Not entirely sure of the answer, but there is an area of the topic view that does Pages. I've actually never used the previous/next links to go to the corresponding topic before because I'd like to know what it is before I go there. Curious as to why you want that over using the Pages area? I'm not against your idea, I'm just trying to understand your desire a little more. :)

I'm just used to forums where the next button takes you to the next page within that topic.

For example if you go here and click on >> it will take you to the next page and not the next topic: http://www.movieforums.com/community/showthread.php?t=26650

So I'm just wondering if there is a mod or something that I could change in the code to get this feature.

This mod seems to do something like that, adds a Prev/Next to the beginning/end of the page area:

Doesn't touch the previous/next area. Should work on 2.0.8 if you're on that version. Use this one, PrevNextPage2.1.204.zip, if you're interested in that.

Installed it but it didn't change anything. Maybe because I'm using a custom theme?

Does anyone know how to make the « previous next » links, link to the next page within a topic?

What is the custom theme? Actually, it likely won't matter as the mod changes Sources/Subs.php. I've not used this mod before, but looking at it, it should affect the Pages area for sure. Have a link to your site where there are multiple pages (and visible to guests)?

OK, the mod's description seems like it should have done something like what your other link did. I just installed it on a test site and went to a page where there were multiple pages and I didn't see the effect of this mod. Bummer, dude.

Yeah I even tried switching to the default theme and it still doesn't work.

Hope someone can help me out with this.
