Newby questions about membergroups

I am sorry if this is an absolute noob worthy question, but I tried searching and found a bunch about setting up a user group, but nothing about how to request to join one.

I set up a usergroup as restricted, set a moderator for it, and now I am trying to request to join it with another test useraccount to verify that it works. Can someone tell me where a normal user would go to request to join a group?

Also if there is some dumb admin option I missed on set up. I am using 2.0.10 btw.

you mean you setup the group as requestable not restricted?
restricted does not seem to exist.

Requestable - Membership to the group can be requested by having a user go to their profile and selecting the Group Membership link

Ah thank you. Didn't see that bit in the wiki. That's what I get for working on things at work. I wasn't seeing it in the profile page either because it was condensed by default. Derp tastic of me.
