I use SMF1.1RC1 on Joomla 1.0.3 and Orstio's bridge 3.19.
It used to work ok, but lately I can't login anymore.
I applied the modifications described here and here (yes, the two instances).
The SMF forum is wrapped, the bridge registration is activated, as well as CB integration. All login modules have been unpublished but for mod_smf_login. The cookie for my admin user is still working, so I get at least this one logged. I tried to login with an existing account that used to work (he posted in the forum while it was working), and I also created a new account. I tried with Opera, FF and IE. No luck. These 3 accounts are present in the jos and smf dbs (checked with phpmyadmin). They are reported to be valid, checked etc.
Do I miss another known fix?

When I've run in to that before, one of these things has always fixed it for me:
1) Try reinstalling the SMF package.  Afterwards, re-upload the modified MOS-SMF.php.
2) Try deleting the forum menu item, then emptying your trash, then making a new menu item.

Other things you may want to try:
Turn off compression/gzip if you are using it.
Change your cookie settings in SMF.
Double check that guest access is enabled in SMF.

I don't know much PHP but I managed to debug the bridge a bit, and it appears that when i try to login or logout it fires a 'mambo_login/mambo_logout' action, while the actionArray that maps actions to the right PHP file expects 'login' or 'logout' (without the 'mambo_' prefix). I don't know yet why I got those 'mambo_' action names, or whether the actionArray should be updated. Any idea?

Orstio

They are supposed to be mambo_login and mambo_logout.

If that does not exist in your action array, then you did not complete installation of the mod package in step 1.

I did, but I upgraded to 1.1RC1 in the meantime and lost those changes  >:(
