New to SMF-Help needed please

Just moved my forum to SMF and moved a few topics over, I would like to change posters name in the moved topics to reflect actual poster and not showing me. Is there a simple way to do this?

The 'started by you' part reflects the 'This topic was moved' notice, not the actual topic itself - the actual topic is just fine.

There is no easy way to do this change, short of changing a bunch of database tables by hand.

Or, if you are saying that you manually copied the contents of posts from your other forum to your new smf from... Then yes, it shows you as the author,,because you posted them from your account.

However, as Arantor says, there is no good way to change that..

Your best bet would be the do a clean installation of smf and then IMPORT your old forum contents instead of copying them over by manual copy and posting.
