Caching Accelerator?

Hi,

SMF version 2.0X has never been able to find a compatible caching accelerator on my server so I have never used it. However, after installing a test board with v2.1b on the same server it finds it.

What I get with v2.09 is: SMF has not been able to detect a compatible accelerator on your server.

What I get with v2.1b is: SMA has detected the following accelerator: SMF filebased caching.

Below are screenshots from both versions.

My question is there a way to modify the v2.09 code so it finds the SMF filebased caching or it just something with v2.09 and its really there but saying its not?

The behaviour on that page changed a bit however, its all about aesthetics/information really.

In 2.0.x the SMF file based cache wasn't taken into consideration, because it always exists, thus it wasn't showed on the list of available cache systems.

2.1 changed this and now the SMF file based cache system is included in the list of available cache systems and its selected as default if the isn't any other cache available.

You don't really need to modify your code, on 2.0.x just select "level 1" and SMF will automatically use the file based one.
Oh, wouldn't it be great if I *was* crazy? ...then the world would be okay

That's kinda what I thought because whenever I selected level 1, files did start building up in the cache folder, but I just wasn't certain and didn't want to enable anything the server might not like.

Thanks...
