You are using SMF 2.1?
AFAIK, it should be the same area, as I do not think they changed that.

Illori

are you using SMF 2.1? what about those options is not working for you?

odysseus11

in the area that is specified (config--->themes and layout ---> member options), the option for "warn on new replies" does not exist - here is what the allowable configs look like in V 2.1:

no idea why it was removed, but seems even removed from the profile page.

it is always on, no matter what. you can not disable it.

odysseus11

thank you for researching that. I will ask my site developers to work at disabling within the PHP code.

To me, that was a very stupid removal.
There are sites that have topics set to always be replied to, where the warning may discourage people from posting where they should.
This, in my honest opinion, is another case of misguided feature removal.

I agree, on my site in particular some of the topics are very active, and it drives some contributors bananas to have to deal with that warning every time they post

Well, if it's active, then should not get the warning...
What I was meaning, is even here, the support topics for mods and themes, the warning can drive people to start topics for support, not wanting to go against the warning. And the team wonders why there's so many people that do post new topics for support on mods/themes that have not been posted in lately. ;)

you are talking about the warning for not replying for 180 days, this is the warning that someone has replied while you are typing your reply and clicking the post button.
