Someone found a way to actually use referrer tracking system on SMF?

I know about the mod (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1114), and it seems its the only one working.
But it doesn't have the most important feature, to be able to see who refereed who.
Has someone found a way to achieve this?
I don't need for it to show on members page or anything I just need to be able to find that information myself.
Is there a way to do this? without spending a lot of money to actually code this?

There is no feature it to view it from within SMF.
Only that it is located in the database in the smf_members table
