So, I've been using SMF 2.0.10 for 3-4 months and I wasn't doing something difficult back then but these weeks when I wanted to install languages and the latest SMF update, it always outputs me messages that it's attempting to connect to the Simple Machines servers (for 20 minutes) and that it can't connect at all.

For more information, PM me.

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.

I don't know, it shouldn't. I'm hosting a game server too by the way.

Just to clarify, by 'latest SMF update' you mean 2.0.11 not 2.1 beta, right?

Just as an fyi, that's not how a support board works. The support team will ask and if they need something you'd rather not post publicly, let them know. :)
DO NOT pm me for support!

Hi Backz,

Regardless if your hosting a game server or not your host will have very specific rules on what can and can't be connected to or pass through their network and in this instance there looks to be a restriction on either the SMF site or on http traffic, so you need to contact your host to see if they can sort it for you.

Well, I'll try that.
