I'm using version 2.0.5 still.  :-\

I want to upgrade, but for a couple of years now it said there "Test failed" for ./Sources/QueryString.php and then under that it says "Replace ./Sources/QueryString.php Test failed."

Someone posted a link to http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/Error_in_mod_installation and that's all well and good, but a lot of that is greek to me. It just seems confusing and I almost have a panic attack just reading it LOL.

Is there a way someone could walk me through it using simple English and guiding me so I don't screw it up?

When you see the error, there is a little pencil icon to the left.
Click it
this opens a window which tells you the code that it is TRYING to change (at the top) and what it is trying to do (add before, add after, remove, replace) (at the bottom)

SInce the automated function can not do it - that means that some other mod has made edits to the code which it is targeting and that you have to use human intuition to find the code (which is no longer exactly the same as the core code) and make the edits to THAT code (it's not just a cute/paste, since the code it is looking for already HAS some edits)

Okay, it was just the version number that would be shown at the bottom. So it's upgraded now to 2.0.6 from 2.0.3.

Obviously the latest version is 2.0.11. It doesn't give me a link to upgrade to that. It just says to visit simplemachines.org. I know where to go to download the latest version....but after I download it I don't know what to do (or if it will go smoothly).

Take a look at this link for more patches.- http://custom.simplemachines.org/upgrades/

If you are on 2.0.6, make sure to first use the "SMF 2.0.6 to SMF 2.0.7 — Download" first, then the "SMF 2.0.7 to SMF 2.0.8 — Download" etc. until you get to the SMF 2.0.10 to SMF 2.0.11 — Download
