For one reason or another when cut and paste text, or when I delete a character or a line, or I make a backspace, the font or the size of the font changes. Sometimes code appears.

It just actually happened here as I wrote the text. When I did a backspace in front of this text: "the font or the size" the font changed. Code appears. Why is this?

DenDen60

When I published the post, part ot the text was the right size but the code appeared.

I thought this was only on my theme, but it seems to be affecting SMF core theme as well.

Also, don't use pixel or percentage based sizes, use points or preset levels (with 1 being the smallest and 7 being the largest)

dont use the WYWISYG editor

This might be a good idea for some sites, but this is not a good idea for mine. We need a process by which people can present information in a more structured way and most users are not coders.

What creates this problem? Is it a CSS issue?

Thank you for the suggestion. How do I do this?

Steve

There are a number of issues with the WYWISYG editor which is why it's being replaced in 2.1 ... as for your question, it's best not to use it at all in any prior version but if you must just use what Gary said. For example:

14 point text = 14 point text or size 3 text = size 3 text etc.
My pet rock is not feeling well. I think it's stoned.

Illori

The editor is adding all that, so without replacing the editor there is no way to stop that from showing up.

Either I did not realize this over the years, but I thought this was a new issue. :-( I don't recall having that problem in the first version of smf 2. :-(

Questions.

Is there a list of these known issues?
What would someone need to do to solve these issues?

As for the pixel/percentage question, my question was, is there somewhere, for example in index.css or in an administration area that this can be change automatically?

Thanks for the examples. However again, for my users, this is a form of coding. I will see what I can do.

n issue I might have been

Thanks.

Is there a particular action that creates this?

How much work would it take to modify the editor so that this behavior is eliminated?

Arantor

This is a bug that has been around sihce at least 2009. No one has yet managed to solve it which is why it was decided five years ago to ditch the editor for a new one.

Thanks for the info.
