Recycle all the posts of one member

I'm using 2.0.13. I have a member that is upset because of another member and wants me to delete her account and all of her 400+ posts. I have a feeling she will change her mind once she calms down, so I don't want to permanently delete her posts.

I do have a trash/recycle bin, but to manually move that many posts to it would be ridiculous. Is there an easier way for me to do that?

First you should upgrade to the latest version of SMF 2.0.15.

The next thing that comes to mind is the ignore feature but you may have to tweak it by adding the offending member to her ignore lists and then in the layout check the box to not display posts on her ignore list. You may have to login as her to do that. Otherwise the only other thing I can think of is custom code because moving any of the posts means putting it all back after if there is a change of heart.

just to note, from the legal side - there is no reason that you have to delete posts by a user on request....   especially when those posts are part of a conversation - you (as admin) are entitled to deny such requests for deletion with the understanding that removing said posts would adversely affect the sige and the flow of conversation, historical and otherwise.

Thanks to both of you, I'll look into the ignore feature. I realize I don't have to delete her posts, but I do believe authors "own" their posts and words and so allow them to edit and delete their own posts. But she knows enough about forums that I can make her posts disappear with one click rather than her having to do it manually.

if you do that, then it is not just one click to restore all the posts back to where they used to be if the user changes their mind.
