Fatal error after forced update?

I'm actually at PHP 7.2 at the moment, not 7.1 or 7.3.

If it is 2.0.17

It is, right? That screenshot I posted above, that's indicating that my version is 2.0.17? Reading the contents of my site is like reading a foreign language; I've never done this before.


To recap for everyone starting on this page of the thread:

To recap: my host forced an upgrade from PHP 5.6 to 7.2 I'm on (assuming I'm reading the host account correctly) SMF 2.0.17. I'm assuming something in the forced PHP upgrade doesn't agree with my forum. How do I go about fixing things?

Also, a friend recommended FileZilla as a piece of FTP software for accessing everything on the server. So I guess the next thing I need to know is this: do I need to change the version of SMF from 2.0.17, or should that already be working? Secondly, assuming I do need to upgrade the forum, how the hell do I do that via FTP?

2.0.17 is the current version.
If that is the version you are running, then you do not need to change versions.

However, the ERROR you are seeing means that you are possibly not actually running 2.0.17

Look at the header of the file in /Themes/default/index.template.php

Where do I find "/Themes/default/index.template.php"? I can't find anything like that. Could it have another name? Is there something in this screenshot I should be clicking on to look for this?

That's so funny, I think my forum version is 2.0.17.

No, that's the database.  index.template.php is a file, you can open it in cpanel filemanager or ftp client.  The database and forum files are two different things.
