I'm not so confident about the SMF 1.1 stable release date, but Rey Gigataras (Joomla Core team) and Orstio have been pretty dependable.  It's been over 1 month since the SMF 1.1 post, with no solid date mentioned since.

EDIT:  One other thing.  For those who use Coppermine gallery, the latest version is 1.4.4, which fixes a security vulnerability.
