Backup Replica & Upgrade Question?

I am planning to upgrade my 2.0.18 biker site soon (it's not busy anyways, everybody's out riding lol) but is there a way or what's the best way to make a backup copy in another directory where a copy (replica) of the 2.0 board can still run on another database? How do I copy everything in my database to another database or is that possible?

(Wasn't sure where to ask this sorry)


(Nevermind I found my answer here and changed table prefixes in phpadmin)
