Status Updates/Profile Posts - Mod Idea

I am not really requesting this mod, but throwing the idea out there.

This is one feature that SMF does not have that I personally think a modern forum software should have.

If someone did want to take up this mod idea, I think a few key features would be required.

A status update block that show something like the last 4 updates.

The block would have the option to be shown in the board index.

An option for people to comment on the status update.

Group permissions for who is allowed/not allowed to post status updates.


As stated above this is just an idea for mod makers out there. .

If I recall correctly, ultimate profile allowed users to customize their profile kinda like Myspace from back in the day.

Edit : Looking at the Ultimate Profile mod, it looks like it did include profile comments amongst it's many other features.

Apparently I don't have such a bad memory I remembered it from a website I attended and used it although it worked a bit poorly, yes, I think something more simplified as you propose it would be interesting to see how it develops.

This would great!

I installed that Breeze mod from github because it said that it supported SMF 2.1.2 but it broke my forum. I had to login via ftp and remove the plugin.
