RTM email notifications not sent out, other mail notifications work

SMF 2.1.4

At some point, maybe after the 2.0.x to 2.1.3 upgrade, our board is no longer sending the email notification to all moderators when a post is reported by a user. Is this no longer a function of the board or is this a bug or an issue with our config?

Other email notifications work. Checked the smarthost server and the email is never delivered to that server.

I'm not necessarily looking for a solution, any guidance or suggestions that may help us to further investigate are appreciated.

Or even a confirmation that RTM still trigger an email notification on 2.1.x forums.

Hello JazzyNL, sorry for no response yet.

Let us get a bit more information so the support team can assist you further :).

Are you seeing any errors in the error log on SMF or the web server?

Have you double checked all of the settings and made sure that they are correct?

Do you have any mods installed?

First thing to check, the moderators own personal notification preference.
Since adding notifications, there are separate personal settings for different moderation notifications available to each user that receives them.

You can find these in Profile -> Forum Profile -> Notifications -> Notification preferences

How you can help SMF

JazzyNL

Thanks for getting back to me, both. There were no errors in the logs, nor issues on the SMTP smart host server. That's why I was not sure where to go next.

Lex was spot on, the issue was with the notification preferences. Email notification was disabled for reported messages, both on my account as with the other administrators. Initially I suspected something went wrong during the upgrade from 2.0.x but after reading a bit more I think the setting may have been overwritten by a new theme we recently started using.

This is a bit of a learning curve, I'm more familiar with phpBB so it takes some time to figure out all the specifics of an SMF forum. Anyway, consider this issue resolved. Thanks for your assistance.

No, the upgrade switched most notifications to alerts rather than emails - purposefully.

Please do not PM, IM or Email me with support questions.  You will get better and faster responses in the support boards.  Thank you.
