2.1 Upgrade and mods

I am wanting to update my forum from 2.0.19 to 2.1.  but have not done so due to a couple of mods Im having difficulty with removing via the package manager.  I'm aware that upgrading to 2.1 is supposed to uninstall any mods, but my question is what if a couple of mods are misbehaving and throw up errors in the package manager if I try uninstalling there.

I have managed to uninstall all the mods and left with just 2 . One of them (Simple Audio Video Embedder) has functions that cant be found by the package manager (or me)... and there is another (Stop Spammer) that package manager thinks has uninstalled, but there must still be some residual files somewhere as Im getting an error in the forum error logs eg
Undefined index: confirm_spammers_report
File: /public_html/forum/Sources/ManageMembers.php

Would this halt or break the upgrade.. or does 2.1 start with clean files.  Not being sure what happens with mods is the only reason I havent attempted to upgrade.

I'd suggest you reset everyone to use the default theme and remove custom themes (if any), but you should be fine.
The upgrade process starts with you overwriting all default files, so any remnant code in files should get wiped out.
