Too few arguments to function checkSubmitOnce(), 0 passed

I am getting this error when posting images. Small images under 1 megabyte upload okay, and have been able to upload images as large as 6 megabytes, though all the images are condensed to under 100K.

I am working on upgrading from 2.0.19 to 2.1.6 this summer. But in the meantime is there a way I can fix?
