SMF Files Increase in Size Over Time

I have a small forum, ArimaOwners.com that is about 27GB. Over time, it grows to over 50GB which is my limit on CrocWeb. As a result, it often locks up. Lately it only takes a few weeks to get there.

I run file maintenance on the attachments and this brings it back down to 27GB. Is there a way to diagnose this?

As a side note, Today I got hit with bots and had 47,000 guests online and it was growing by the minute. I have changed the viewers to members only. Normally, I only have about 300 guests on at any one time. I don't know if this is causing the file memory problem.

I did find a support ticket on the guest/bot issue here on SMF which may be unrelated to the file growth issue. I will have to wait and see if this fixed the issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Crocweb support is very good, David or Steve should be able to help you with this.
