Help Pls Error for users on replying to a post

Hi this may be a quick one but couldn't find it in a search
All of our users after clicking on post reply
recieve this message
fsockopen(): unable to connect to localhost:25
however the message still posts
and then you have to work your way back
could any1 help please?

Hello, i know what your problem is.
I had the same problem and it was my antivirus client on the server.
It was blocking port 25 to prevent mass-mailers sending mail from my server.
I disabled this feature and e-mail from SM works like a charm.

My antivirus client is Mcafee 8.0I
