Hi,
I'm using Joomla 1.0.7 and SMF 1.1 RC2. SMF is restricted to registered members, but I want to allow guests to see the calendar. I've set the guests' permission to allow guests to view the calendar, but if someone who isn't logged in tries to view the calendar, they are given the login form. Any ideas?

Here's the direct link to the calendar: hxxp:www.ednf.org/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=234&action=calendar [nonactive]

I'm using the bridge version 1.1.

If anyone can tell me if it's possible to make the calendar open to guests and the boards restricted to members, I'd appreciate it greatly.

There are 2 places I know where you can set the permissions. In admin- 'permissions' and 'calendar'.
You may want to check that both have the permissions set up properly.

hmmm...   wait...   board closed to guests, but calendar open...  I'm not sure if that will work with SMF basic... (even without the bridge)

After all, you have to be able to see the posts in order to see the event...

Yes, you can do that by going to 'boards' and modifying each one to not allow guests to access them. And still have access to the calendar.

but they will only be able to see the EVENTS listed in the calendar if they can see the board where the linked event is posted...

Even though I don't use the option, it does look like: 'Allow events not linked to posts' was designed for cases just like this one.    I think. Never tried it, so I don't know how it works exactly.
