Bug - Board display logic for new-message(s) indicators

Hi Folks

Apologies if dealt with elsewhere. - Please include a link to relevant post(s).

The logic behind the conditional display of the category & board new-message indicators
(or other theme equivalents)
does not function as should be expected.

The logic also doesn't match that of the -
* text display of any child boards (as displayed beneath the parent board title/description).
* board messages listing, subject text & suffixed icon, (this always displays correctly).

Tested in both default and classic YabbSE theme, (probably only noticeable on low post or test board).

There are two seperate issues here -

1)
To match the currently implemented message listing & suffixed icon implementation.

Board indicators should always indicate new-messages are present, until -
a) the messages are viewed
or
b) the mark all-read is actioned.

2)
Indicators are currently dependent on viewing the board, (or any child board),
rather than actually having viewed the new messages.

Example -
A parent board contains multiple child boards, (indicator shows new messages present)
all child boards contain new messages. (indicators shows new messages present)

View any single child board, return to the parent board.

Result in Classic YabbSE theme -
The parent board indicator now indicates no new messages present in any child board,
despite never having viewed a single message, nor any of the child boards.

This behaviour in the Classic YabbSE theme does not correlate with -
* the indicator key displayed beneath the main board.
* the text link displayed beneath the parent board title/description.
* the implemented message listing & suffixed .

Result in SMF Default theme -
Category level indicator does not conditionally display correctly.

It shows no new messages if level 1 children contain no new messages,
despite level 2 & level 3 children, containing lots of child boards, and lots of new messages.

3) Related
Messages accessed via other urls
e.g. via show unread posts, or new replies to your posts.

If any single new-message within the board is viewed,
no matter how many other new-messages are unread,
the board new-message indicator now shows no new posts.

This was something I'd long suspected but not checked/confirmed till now
having become obvious since changing the indicator gifs on one of our sites (classic theme).
