SMF Version: SMF 1.0.6
I used fantastico to uplaod my forum but in the cp it said that there was a new version 1.0.6 so i upgraded it again. A few days later i kept getting this error that the database was 1.0.2 while everything else was alright. It would prevent me from seing theforum then allow me. I posted here expressing concern and the person who replied said that if i upgraded it then it was fine so i didnt worry but a few days ago i tried to go on and it said that i the database was unable to connect to smf.

I have all sorts of nformation there that i didnt save anywhere. I'm suer you've heard this before but it's still important to me please. I'm on the verse of majorly panicking now if anyone can instruct me on how to fix this i will be greatful if you can't help me then at least tell me where to locate the database please.  Please respond. I do not want to lose my information. Here is a link so you can see and a screen shot in case you cant.

It looks like you just need to ftp in and verify the database connection settings in settings.php -- in other words your db name, db username, pass, etc.

I am getting the same problem. But I dont think it has to do anything with SMF. Actually thats the database server of your host which causes this problem. I have a reseller account of a host. When ever i see the above message none of my other php/mySQL sites work. All static pages work just fine just the pages where we need the db connection.

But the reason I am worried that when I ask from my host they said database server was restarted due to too much load. I think it might have something to do with FireFoxSMF compatibility because i just had the same attacl today. My cpanel was working fine and I even saw the logs and saw that "Keepalive" thing there. Although I am not sure but i think whenever that happens (Firefox/smf) host server somehow shut down the database server.

I would really like to know more detailed opinion from a pro of SMF community/team.

Thanks!

Well why then did i show me that thing combined with smf. I checked the "more detailed parts and it showed somethign approximately like this

               Your Version   Current Version
Templates     1.0.4                1.0.4
Database      1.0.2                1.0.6

Can it really be my database? If so then my information is lost s I do not really even know how to work this thing. I'm surprised I got this far even.
