I apologize for asking this question, but I have been sifting through forums for over an hour and can't find the answers.

1. What is the difference between SMF 1.0.7 and SMF 1.1.rc2?

2. Which version integrates better with Joomla v. 1.0.8, and where is the official download page to find Orstio's most current bridge?

THANKS!

Orstio

SMF 1.0.7 is the most recent release of the stable SMF 1.0.

SMF 1.1 Release Candidate 2 is the most recent release of SMF 1.1, currently in public testing.

SMF 1.1 RC2 integrates much tighter with Joomla 1.0.8, with the bridge version 1.1.3, which is attached to this post:

Thank you!

If I wanted a bridge between Joomla, SMF, AND a shopping cart module - can I use this bridge v.1.1.3 for that?

Orstio

I havn't started looking into shopping modules yet, but I have seen virtuemart come up in a lot of discussions. As long as it is secure, and it integrates, i would consider using it.

VirtueMart is a great product.  You won't be disappointed.

livingegg, if you want to see virtumart in action you can visit my other site (http://www.sjbros.com).. Its really easy to use.

Paki - it looks great - and since its an actual joomla component it looks like I won't need to bridge it at all. I assume that people logging into the bridge though instead of joomla will not interfere... Does it share user information with the actual joomla registration?

paki

yes.. it pulls all its info with joomla registration. what happens is if you register for an account with just joomla and then try and check out, it will ask you for additional info (name, address, etc) and from that point on that info is tied with your name
