Attachment picture resize bug....

I found an error, it seems the forum software
SMF 1.1 RC2
does not like
to enable the picture resizing, so all posts must now
be enabled with the original resolution picture size shown
and not with a thumbnail !
I had earlier changed that , so all the pics
were shown in full size as the php page loads.
Then I did an attachment maintainance,
probably it cleared out also a few thumbnails
then.
Then I wanted to have the page shown again only
thumbnails as default during loading,
but then I am getting,
Page not found !

Maybe he does not find the thumbnails anymore then ??

This seems to be still a bug of the forum software.

Okay, I have now again enabled fullsize picture under the posting,
so the page needs to load longer, but will instantly show the big pictures.
Thus I have reduced the postings per page to 5 postings, so the page does
not load too long.

If I enable in the admin section:
"Resize images when showing under posts"
this page will not load anymore.

What can I do to be able to enable this option again ?

P.S: How can thumbnails again be produced, if they were accidently deleted ?
Must they be in the attachment directory too or are they generated on the fly
for postings with bigger sized picture attachments ?
