I have a wrapped install of mambo 4.5.2 and SMF 1.07.

When I login on the main mambo page, it takes me to the forum, plus, it gives me a bad password message for the forum.  I am using the mod_smf_login.

Obviously I am VERY new to this application.  What am I doing wrong.  What I want to have happen is to have the homepage login let the user remain on the homepage, but also log them into the forum, so that when they click that link, they are already logged in.

Any help or direction to look would be appreciated.

As Kindred mentioned, we will need a bridge version in order to help you.

Also, I strongly suggest you upgrade Mambo to at least 4.5.3 for your security.

I just downloaded the bridge, so I assume that I am using 1.1.4.  I will look into upgrading mambo.

Thanks for the help.

So, you didn't actually read the post from which you downloaded bridge 1.1.4, did you?

Quote from: OrstioAgain, this bridge is compatible only with SMF 1.1RC2.  If you have any other version of SMF, please use bridge 3.19a instead.

Ok, obviously I goofed.  Do I unpublish or delete the SMF stuff and re-install, or can I just put the other version of the bridge out there?

Orstio

Which would you rather do?  Would you rather upgrade SMF to 1.1RC2, or would you rather stay with SMF 1.0.7, and use bridge 3.19a?

tluebbe

I guess I could go with 1.1RC2, I just didn't do this to start off with so that, as a newbie, I would not have to deal with any issues from the new release.

Orstio

When using with Joomla, you'll find SMF 1.1RC2 a better choice.  SMF 1.0.x bridging is quite awkward in comparison.
