Adding Birthdays to the Calendar

I would like to add birthdays to my calendar but I can't see a way of doing it. Does it automatically do it when a member registers?

it is automatically added when user specify a birthdate in profile

So I can't add two or three birthdays using a different colour for the added birthdays then I guess?
