N00b question: Why all the theme mods for 1.1 RC2 ???

 Hey everyone, I'm a newbie here at smf and I'm wanting to change the theme of my forum. I've noticed that most of the theme mods are for 1.1 RC2 and very few for 1.0.7 . Anyone know the reason for this. Is there anything special about 1.1RC2, or is that just a version most people use? AND, If i have to, i wouldn't mind just changing some colors, etc. I'm guessing this is very possible, but can anyone point me inthe right direction? Again, I'm very new to php or any coding. Thanks

Well 1.1 rc2 is a pre-release basically not a beta for the next SMF version 1.1 final that is around the corner. Though it is floating about in the grape vine that a 1.1 rc3 will come along first. So the Mod writers are probably just getting ready for the 1.1 line over the old 1.0x line.
