enter random code for registering

is there a mod that makes anyone who registers enter a randomly generated code?

I've been getting a lot of promotion bots (or whatever they may be called) registering on my forum, but, they can never complete it because it has to be verified via email, but I don't even want them to get that far in the registration process.
