expanding tab bar for 1.1rc2

ok, i am to the point that i have run out of room for the tab bar. is it possible to run a second row of tabs?

if this isn't possible, would i be better off removing the normal bar and replacing with a drop down type menu? if so how would i remove existing bar and replace with my own script?
