SMF Version: SMF 1.1 RC2
Does the invision power baord converter work for SMF1.1RC2??

its telling me its not

dontbe

OK.. ignored the converters on teh converters page, and tried the ones on the first post of this forum.

When I ran it, I got:

Any ideas??
I added the login of the smf database to the userlist of the invision database... but they are different databases (found on the same server)

It seems to me it should be asking for more info..

Gary

If you're getting that screen, you've completed your conversion.

Check the box and click "your SMF installation" that'll delete the convert.php and invsion_to_smf.sql file, but as it says, it may not work on all servers, if it doesnt delete them from the FTP.

I hope that you'll enjoy using SMF.

Thanks for the reply..

no matter what I put in the "path to SMF" or "path to invision board" it gives me that same message. I dont even have to put in the database password and I get that message.

I cant NOT get the "success" message. (ironic)

I get the idea that I have the wrong converter. I wish there was an official page to get converters, and not just some random post to pick them from.
Ed

I really want to convert to this board...if it works as well as it looks, I will convert at least 3 other IPB boards.

Gary

Hmm... I agree with the searching for a post on the forum and then picking an attachment. It's too phpBB Community like for my tastes. I'd assume that the Dev's would add them to the converter page when 1.1 goes final.

To be honest, I'm not exactly experienced in the converting thing so I cant exactly guide you (I'm not exactly a support specialist after all), all I can say is that if you're converting from IPB 2.1.3 and above to RC2, use the SQL and convert.php from this thread.

For 1.1 RC2 and IPB 1.3, use the convert.php from here and invision_to_smf.sql from here.

I have tested the converter with IPB 1.3.1 and it works fine for me.

Tried again. no matter what I do, it says the conversion was successful. but it is not.

Has anyone else had a problem with this?? Im at a complete loss. I do not have a single other thing to try.
