what version of smf are you using? Some times when i accidentally download a mod thats for another version, I got to package manager and its blank.. I get a 500 internal server error cos for some reason uploading the wrong package version screws up smf's package manager.

Just an idea...

NOTE TO torniyo:
In the player window, below the player the title of the artist and track are displayed, but mine does not update.. it stays on the title and artist of the track playing when I first launched the player

Anyone have a descent list of radio stations that will work with this?  Maybe a handful or two would be great!

in future release, list for genres.

Try:
213.251.190.165:80 - Trance - 192 kbps
fg.impek.tv:80 - Trance - 128 kbps
dsl.tb-stream.net:80 - 128 kbps
213.113.165.58:80 - Techno Pop - 128 kbps
82.197.165.136:80 - Pop Spiritual - 56 kbps
209.9.238.10:80 - Various - 128 kbps
66.28.209.20:80 - Eurodance - 128 kbps

http://www.shoutcast.com/ theres loads. try to avoid stations whos addresses have directorys eg http://10.20.30.40:80/radio/ cos on my site at least stations which use directorys in thier address take alot longer to load  :-\

If you do use stations with directories remember to add 10.20.30.40 in the first box

the port number in the second box example i gave it was 80

and thge directory in the directory's box in my example this was radio

Hope that helped :)

Only IP o url without http://.
Only number of Port.
Only IP o url without first /.

Radio Stations with various streams in the same host, could not be bad read for stats... But this stations are listen perfect.

rc2....

This release was a prove.
The next will be for 1.0.7, RC2 and the administration will be independent and more complete.

mickyd2006

Thanks for the update torniyo.

Any Plans To Combat / work around fsockopen() for those users hostings that dont allow fsockopen() like mine?

Sock connection  :-[
I see it impossible if you cannot change php.ini (disable_functions) or firewall blocks.
If the hostings have close ports for external socket connections, you only can to request that they allow connections to determined ports or hosts... It's NOT good in shared virtual servers..
Or you have dedicated server or you best option are radio stations ports 80.

I'm sorry. If some genius knows like, he say it.  :-X

I read something once somewhere about using cURL instead of fsockopen() if that helps give you any ideas?

I might be able to point you to one or two posts on the matter if it helps?

That library would hinder more the things. If fsockopen() is disable..., Is not easier to activate it? If a firewall blocks the establishment of the connections, I believe that it would be a lost of time. No?

It is possible, it should prove it, but I don't believe to see it a solution. The library should be in the system...

Thanks mickyd2006. ;)

mickyd2006

Okay, I leave it to you,

In next release for this mod  i can add more than 1 station ??

Thanks

mickyd2006

I asked torniyo this a couple of posts back in this thread.

He told me that this is a post release or beta if you like... I also asked for the feature to add more stations and perhaps categories to put them in, perhaps in the form of 2 drop down menus, one for cetegories or genres ie trance, hip hop.. and the second dropdown for the stations that belong under those genres..

torniyo Says that he will look into adding these features in a future release.

Hope that helps  :)

Awesome mod. I wondered if there would ever be a way users could change the stations? For example, seeing and selecting from the station options in, say, a drop down menu?

torniyo

It is possible.
They could see the available stations and to change them (radio buttons). Maybe in another version.  ;)

sipko

Love the mod, by the way, a great addition to a forum.

Great Job torniyo.

I noticed you added cURL support :)

Just one point.. It would be better for users to select the stations rather than preset one station in admin.

Other than that.. brilliant job :)
