could somebody look into this?

Do you mean the themes site? I don't see anything wrong there. but if you mean the Themes board, some of the themes are really old with thumbnails uploaded to different sites, where the images are no longer at.

BTW are there screenshots of the themes present or is it something else that isn't showing up?

I see the theme pics (they're screenshots of the themes) without any issues.

Got norton internet security or any other type of banner blocking software?

The One

Nope.
Anyway all the other pics show up well except for the ones there.

Yup this look likes an issue with the proxy server/firewall that I use.
I tried it using another proxy server (my company has a few) and everything shows up fine.

So I was wondering is there anyway you guys make the pics/downloads just plain links or something like that so that it shows up always?? Not depending on the visitors config.

If you can't see the picture, try going to the URL directly.
For Opera, right-click the image and go 'Copy Image Address'
For Internet Explorer, right-click, go 'Properties', and copy the URL.

Paste the address into your browser's address bar, and see if the image comes up then. Your proxy might be returning some sort of error message.

EDIT: I can confirm that some of the images aren't showing up in Internet Explorer. Under Opera (with the same configuration), everything works properly.

Using this link http://themes.simplemachines.org/index.php?action=download;lemma=95;id=429;image=thumb in my browser address bar gave me the following
QuoteExplanation: There is a problem with the page you are trying to reach and it cannot be displayed.

Try the following:
Refresh page: Search for the page again by clicking the Refresh button. The timeout may have occurred due to Internet congestion.
Check spelling: Check that you typed the Web page address correctly. The address may have been mistyped.
Access from a link: If there is a link to the page you are looking for, try accessing the page from that link.
If you are still not able to view the requested page, try contacting your administrator or Helpdesk.

I think I found the problem: the server is GZipping the PNG files (through mod_gzip or PHP's ob_start("ob_gzhandler")). As far as I know, GZipped PNG's don't load correctly in Internet Explorer (and there's no benefit compressing PNG's anyways).
All the PNG thumbnails aren't loading in Internet Explorer, whereas the GIF's and JPEG's are.

(sorry about low-quality images, they were saved using MS-Paint :P)
