Hi,

I keep getting the following error "You are not allowed to access this section" when I try to register as a new user on the forum. I am sure it's something to do with my settings in the settings on the admin panel under features where i want an email sent in order to validate a user. The email is not sending.

Do I just use my ordinary email address with the smtp hostname along with username and password?Does it have to be the same email i (the admin) supplied when i registered?

You get that error when you try to register twice during the same session. If you want to register a new user as an admin, you will need to do so through the admin center.

If you give me a link to your forum, I'll register and see if I get the activation email.

Thanks for the quick reply. I realise what happened now. But it still doesn't send the activation email even though I have requested that the admin also be notified when a new user activates (this email doesnt arrive either - obviously cause the user cannot activate)?
Do I need to enter details under the "smtp" feature on the admin panel or can I leave it blank? Can you try it for me please.

If you have the email type set to SMTP then you either need to enter the details there or set it for PHP Default.

Email activation is working on your forum. I just got the activation email (I can forward it to you if you want). You can delete the Testing account now...

Thank you.I have noticed that email activation is indeed working now but I also ticked the boxes to send a welcome email and to notify the admin. of new members and neither has happened?Any idea why not?I presume you didn't get the "welcome email"?
