Have a look at the messages table and see what the name is one one of his posts in there. Backup your database before you play with it though.

It does work, many people have done it, the way to do it has been posted a few times if you search.

Just wanted to thank Oldiesman for the code snippets.  I recently bridged SMF with the new Efiction script and since I converted from a nuke integrated phpbb to SMF, my id wasn't ever 1 [which is what it needed to be for the bridge to play nice-nice]   Be that as it may I was able to reassociate all my prior posts, PMs etc without any issue.  Excellent and most useful.  Thanks again.
