I am very new to forums and i came across an error i cant figure out.

Cannot connect to the MySQL database server with the supplied data.

If you are not sure about what to type in, please contact your host.
Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061)
Click here to try this step again.

I am very shure the information i put in is correct. Could someone help me out?

KGIII

Was it already working before you got this error?

Still Fustrated >:( Anyone?

Reupload all files from the Large Upgrade package (just make sure everything needed is there). After that, upload and run repair_settings.php:
What is repair_settings.php?

Triple check your database info. For some hosts you have to specify an IP address instead of localhost for the MySQL server -- contact your host about the proper info.

Also make sure that all paths are correct -- click on every "Recommended value" link and use www.yoursite.com instead of yoursite.com.

Remember to delete repair_settings.php from the server after clicking the Save button.

Does it help?

Ok i ran repair_settings.php and confirmed all my settings.

Then i took it off my server. I tried to reinstall the forums and got the exact same error.

Didn't Help.  :'(

Any more ideas?

KGIII

Are you 100% certain the information is correct to connect to the database? Can you confirm this with your hosting company?

I am afraid it isn''t anything else I can think of. If the info you filled in weren''t recognised by the smf installer, and you are sure you filled in the correct info, then double check with the host that you had indeeed the right info. Other than this nothing else comes to mind
