My board is for a local group in the US so no valid members should have a non US email address. Is there a way to automatically filter out registration requests with non US emails, such as .ru, .info, and others? We get alot of bots spamming for registration, and almost all of them have non .com, .edu, .org, or .net email addresses and this would be helpful so we don't have to hand filter them out ourselves.

Just approve your registrations manually. Whilst you can use filters a lot of spammers these days are actual real live human beings!

We are approving registrations manually. It's just that 99% of the user registrations are from .ru, .info .pl .de or similar. So they are obviously bots for advertising. Since the forum is for a local student organization noone will have a .ru, .info, .pl, or .de address. Nearly everyone will have a .edu or .com address, and rarely maybe .net or .org. Instead of hand filtering them it would be easier if the computer just didn't allow foreign addresses. I mean that's what computers are for right? To make our lives easier?

Okay, point taken.

To ban say .ru you create a new ban and just wild card the trigger for the email address as *.ru
