Here's a list of mods that are installed:

1.    SMF 1.1.1 Update Package    1.1.1    [ Uninstall ]
2.    Admin Notepad    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
3.    Signature Settings Mod    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
4.    MessagePreviewOnHover    1.4    [ Uninstall ]
5.    SMF Staff Page    1.5    [ Uninstall ]
6.    Topic description    1.0    [ Uninstall ]
7.    Spoiler Tag    0.3.1    [ Uninstall ]
8.    SMF 1.1.2 Update Package    1.1.2    [ Uninstall ]
9.    SMF 1.0.11 / 1.1.3 Update    1.1    [ Uninstall ]
10.    SMF 1.0.12 / 1.1.4 / 2.0 b1.1 Update    1.0

I do think it may be a mod problem. I had a big mess happen there, my host's server crashed, and when they restored the site, the database was up to date but the files were half a year old. That resulted in the SMF database thinking mods should be there, but the actual mod files not being there. I couldn't uninstall them as such, so I just installed them once more. It seemed to work with no errors, but maybe that was a lie. Maybe I should uninstall them all now and try again?

As for the theme, I can't really make the default theme be, well, default, (would look horrible, too many people in the forum) but I can enable theme choosing, if that's any use?

Yeah ok I definitely have a problem. Whichever package I try to uninstall, it says "Unable to find package file!". The mods are working though, they're all there. What do I do? How do I uninstall them???

[edit]
I just tried uploading their packages to the packages directory, but that didn't work.

you could download the SMF upgrade package (the large upgrade), delete upgrade.php, and the two sql files, from it, and then upload the remainder to your server.  This'll clean up the mods in the default themes and the Sources.  If you use a custom theme also grab a fresh copy of that and copy it over what is currently there.

This will uninstall all your mods (but will retain their Database information so that you could reinstall them without data loss).

Then, open /Packages/installed.list, and delete everything in it.

Then you should be able to reinstall whichever mods you wish.
