Hi

I apologize if this issue has been addressed already.
I currently have an older version of AVEA, 7.0.701.  I want to install Aeva Media 1.0.  When I try to uninstall the Aeva 7.0, I get this message:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in D:\Hosting\5108739\html\forum\Sources\Subs-Package.php on line 1863

...

Avea 1.0 would not uninstall due to whatever corruption I introduced with all my installing/uninstalling of previous versions of Avea.

I found what appears to be a solution to my problem.  Tell me if this is wrong, or a security risk.

I did a fresh installation of SMF to a new directory, including the creation of a new MySQL database.

Then I identified my old MySQL database information.  I entered those database identifiers (eg, name of the database) into the server settings on the new SMF forum.

Voila, I have a new SMF without any packages installed yet all my posts/avatars/etc are saved.  (I tried recovering from the backups made before Avea was installed but that didn't uninstall Avea for me.)

I put the old board in maintenance mode permanently, basically, so theoretically only one SMF board is using it.

@at1with0: Why simply don't you uninstall it MANUALLY..?

Excellent question, stupid answer: I don't know how.

Nao 尚

@at1> It would have taken you 10 minutes to uninstall the mod manually....

I've installed this rev but now if I click on the pictures Highslide doesn't work.... I'm redirected to the picture file in another tab/window.....
Stupid question: why did you uninstall?
Other than that, I don't know... I don't think there's a reason for this to happen. The new highslide is called "highslide-2.js" and the previous one is "highslide.js" (and it's still in the file list), so there shouldn't be any cache issue... Maybe you have some cache enabled? (AM or SMF) Then make sure to clear it.
I will not make any deals with you. I've resigned. I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered.

Would have been nice if manual uninstallation was suggested after my first posting in this thread.  That's ok,  I don't fault anyone for it.  I LOVE this mod!

I've cleared both the browser/forum cache.. it seems to work with IE but not with FF (3.6)... strange..

@at1> Well, I skipped a week's worth of posts. It's a free mod, it's free support. Can't do everything.

@Lorenzo> So... What did you think about the new feature then?

Hm, looks like Firefox doesn't support the <outerHTML> property on anchor tags... What an odd thing. Aren't they supposed to be the champions of DOM traversal? :P

I've committed rev 216 which has a fix for FF (uses the attributes property instead). It's longer and uglier, but it works on FF and Opera.

Great news about the new version.
Has anybody already implemented the new Highslide function,
and can post the URL
so I could have a look at it ?

Many thanks.

Looks great in IE.  Still looks wonky on my FireFox.  Rev 216, FF 3.6

Thanks, Nao!  Was just about to post about that issue when you posted the fixed.

Downloaded, installed, and tested...works great!  Thank you!

EDIT: Under SMF1.

Here's Rev 216, if you're using FF 3.6: http://tcf.essentialknights.com/index.php?action=media;sa=album;in=5

Interesting.  My FF 3.6 shows it fine on your forum, but on my forum it looks messed up, like the JPG I posted above.

I'm on SMF 2.0 RC2, and Aeva Media rev 216.

Another thing I've noticed on 216, it allows multiple Lightboxes to be opened up.  It used to be that if you had one lightbox open, and you clicked on another thumb, it would close the first lightbox when it opened the second.

Still can't get 216 to work on my forum in FF, though it works fine for me at Lord High's.

no. it just looks nicer if you just want to browse some pictures. That's offcourse what I think about it and my forum crew.

I know the picture can be previewed bigger with some setting adjustment..
