Limit number of posts

Is there a way to limit the number of posts a thread can have in a certain forum..  For example a "Off Topic" forum can get really long usless posts.  will there be a way to limit the number of replies, so that you dont end up with a rather large database of all off-topic crap posts

the problem there would be that if you limit it to say 20 posts... people could easily clog it with crap and dissalow anyone else from posting... the easiest way really is just to delete or move off-topic posts...
that being said, it would be an easy enough mod to do...

But it would be useful for an intro board, that way a limited amount posts can be accepted when replyin to a newbie.
