do you have access to your database via phpmyadmin or a similar tool?

-> (table) smf_members -> (set your) ID_GROUP (to 1)

Go into phpMyAdmin.  From there, go to your database, and click the SQL tab.  Enter this:

UPDATE smf_members
SET ID_GROUP = 1
WHERE emailAddress = 'whatever.yours@was.com';

when you have loaded the table, switch to "view" via the top bar. then you have a list of all your members on horizontal lines. at the left is a checkbox, beside that is a "pen" .. which means "edit". this will load the wanted account infos.
then the 5th line is ID_GROUP

edit: unknown's hint is the easier one ;)
