Well - that's my understanding - but others may disagree. I'm not saying that 1.1 has to have MAJOR changes - just that it's probably more than just a couple of tweaks here and there - and hence requires a fair amount of testing.
Ah right, so the whole thing is open to interpretation.

Don't forget the ability to post calendar events without starting a new topic ;)

I strongly second that. We are using the calendar to post tv events of interest. But we didn't want the tv forum to be cluttered with a post for each event. Set up a subforum just for these events, but that confuses our users.

Plus, global annoncements/ super stickies, whatever you call it.

Oh, and: No feature bloat ;)

Daniel D.

I think you can have more features - you should only find a way to display it "unbloated" ;)...

I was off more than a bit, i was more than a mile off, i must say i just thought that it was 1 to 1.1 didnt know there were so many in between bits. This is a shock anyway. Ill still be around though and enjoying 1

You should make a roadmap and give the different releases cool names like Mozilla.org does. 1.0 should be called something like Blue Moon or something cool.

Interesting idea... But I think it's more professional just to stick to numbers.

What did Intel and AMD, Mircosoft etc.?

why not name it after reptiles?

smf 1.1 codename boa
smf 1.2 codename anaconda
smf 2.0 codename viper

just kidding, actually, noone cares about codenames, but as everone knows running a huge message board is lots of work and it is always good to know when approximately you'll have to update next and what will the features be like. so a roadmap is pretty good i think.
after all, the SMF guys dont have to stick to it ;-)

I think a roadmap of proposed features would be a great benefit to SMF. No need to include any release dates but it would be great to give current users and potential users an idea as to the direction the project is heading.

Serious question... do you have plans for a v1.0.1 with errr dare I say it, bug fixes?

indeed, otherwise users will post tons of feature request, although they are already considered to be in 1.1

Daniel D.

There are already ca. 30 small changes in the next version.
