I just added Forum News but it is not showing any recent topics. I think it will show only news. I want to show topics from boards.

Addition for your lines,
I am not able to write php codes as I don't know php very well. If anyone can help me I can pay for it too. I want to solve my 1 and 2 questions. If we solve 1 and 2 questions then 3rd question is not necessary.

If you add a new block and select "board news" it will show each topic.

And have you taken a look at https://simpleportal.net/index.php?topic=14420.0 [nofollow]

Hello,

I was trying to use Simple Portal to add a block that shows a specific forum stat. The default options that are available are for the general forum statistics and some other features which Im not using.

Im using the Say Thanks Mod and it is showing in statistics. Is there any way that I can add a custom block that would show this specific forum stat? I would very much like to show our members who the top 10 thanked members are.

I know there are custom blocks in Simple Portal, I just dont know how to set one up for the specific stat.

Or it could be that you have very specialist desires and there’s a lack of people that have the time and patience to build something just for you and that won’t benefit anyone else.

I wonder how much you think a job like this costs. But it’s not all about the money, you’re still waiting for someone with the time and energy to come along, and honestly, I’d be surprised if you were willing to pay my standard consulting rate ($150 US/hr, and I haven’t even looked at what you actually want done, which probably puts it into a couple of hours minimum)

Hopefully someone nicer than me will come along, but I wouldn’t bet on it. Custom work for people, for what people usually want to pay, honestly sucks to do.

If it shows in the stats page it's kind of a matter of copy/paste the code from wherever those statistics are (don't know how the mod works so it could be in its own file or in the stats file itself).
no is there to help. Seems dead topic.
It's not, but even for the board news you've been told what to do and you said "no solution" when I'm 100% sure that works. That alone probably nukes quite a lot of willingness to help you sir.
Arantor was a bit blunt but he explained the gist of it I would say.

Haven't tried to look into the code right now, it's 4am and I'm going to sleep, but just wanted to let you know the above.

It's so powerful that on this post and even in the two PMs you sent me,you still answered my question very quickly and you're apologizing for the delay. You're the #1 support I've probably ever encountered man, so much respect for that. Thank you, and get better soon.

I'll keep this in my siggy for a while just to remind me that someone appreciated what I did while others didn't.

I tried to add news block but it does not show anything.

News block is for displaying forum news not topics from certain board.
If you don't have news set in Admin -> Main -> News then it won't show anything.

If you wanted to show topics, the block you're looking is either Recent Posts/Topics (make sure to select topics when creating it) or the Articles block.

How are you posting youtube videos in the shoutbox?
Are you using bbcode or a mod that auto changes the link to show the video?
Which mod?

i have the Simple Audio & Video Embedder mod on and it just works if you post a youtube link in a post but once upon a time, the Shoutbox also managed to do it (without tags).

I have tried Dougie's youtube BBCode and that just also gets ignored. When i say ignored, i mean the command just disappears.

It's no big deal but i was just curious as why it worked years ago and doesn't now.

if i try to use the youtube embed code with the html BBCode then the URL gets messed up.

it may not even be a SP problem (?) but if i just paste the link into the Shoutbox command line it simply gets ignored; is that normal ?

The only way it works is via the url that comes up as [link] but that's not ideal.
