Hi @ll,

i am using SimpelPortal v.1.2 for some time now, and i have some strange errors in the errorlog.

For each user online at that time the following error message appears a few times in a row:

http://myhomepage/myforum/index.php
8: Undefined index: 180
Datei: /var/www/forum/Sources/SPortal.php
Zeile: 585

and after that it shows this message .. also a few times

http://myhomepage/myforum/index.php
8: Undefined index: 180
Datei: /var/www/forum/Sources/SPortal.php
Zeile: 484

I have looked into the code and found out that this has something to do with the show recent posts and show recent topics functions of the portal.
I couldnt reproduce the error .. usually it shows up every couple of days.

Would be nice if sbdy could help me with this. :)

It's likely that this error was fixed within the SimplePortal 2.0.x releases. Your best bet really would be to upgrade it, as the 2.x line includes some new features that you might find useful. And it would assist us with your support, instead of having to research and review such an old version.

Installed, no errors, but code at the top of the page. Found the answer to that problem within the forums here.

I am having the same problem with the code at the top. What is the answer you found to remedy this problem? Anyone?

this is what its showing at the top of my forum after I install.

@Stock,
As I already said in the other topic. Adding blocks throughout the forum, is something which the Simple Portal Dev team is working on for a later version.

@runebergen and asudhakar,
A system is being developed which should allow people to add their own blocks and blocks made by other people more easily, so your block may be left until we have completed that feature, and then people will be able to easily make/add their own blocks. Thank you for developing the block though. :)

Hi, SiNaN.

Thanks for a great Mod.  :)

I'm getting an error maybe someone here could help me with. I don't know much at all about php or databases... or computers.  ;D I just know that I get one of these in my error logs everytime someone opens sportal at my site.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Can anyone help with this? I'm using the latest version of Sportal and SMF 1.1.5

That fixed it alright! Thanks much!

Now onto my final beef with this mod. I don't want your name and link at the bottom of my forum Mr SiNaN, you sneaky little so and so. SMF's copyright is more then enough without throwing your little link of love under it. Does anyone know how to remove this link from under the copyright? Thanks.

@CaptJack,
This may be an issue with the smf arcade block, do you have an SMF arcade block and does the error stop if you remove the block?

@pradius,
You have noticed that this mod has a copyright link down the bottom of your page, this copyright is not easily removable without removing entire the SMF copyright, because we don't want you to remove it. While this may/may not change in the future, at the moment this mod has a copyright link attached to it, and you are not meant to remove it. I will discuss this with Sinan but at the moment, you cannot remove it unless you have good php skills.

@NIBOGO,
Permissions and a few bug-fixes.

SMF Mods are more that allowed to stick a copyright on your forum. Even TinyPortal does this. But maybe we could move it just to the portal page for the next version.

Anyways, you won't be getting assistance to remove it in this support thread. Sorry, just not going to happen.

Removing the SMF copyright and/or the SP copyright will void licenses. As mods are third-party software, we have the right to copyright our material. Removing such rights can result in legal action on your part.

Alrighty, I'll just remove the mod all together. I don't need it that bad. That link makes my page look tacky and unprofessional. Thanks anyway.  ;)

I just installed 2.0.4 and got this error:

You installed or updated?

Okay, I got the error. Probably you uninstalled the earlier version, then installed the new.

So because of old table being there, it didn't create the new table.

Do you want to use your old blocks again or that isn't a problem for you to loosing them?

I don't mind losing the old blocks. I was only using the original ones anyway.  :)
However, I don't know how to replace them.  :-[
C.Jack

[SiNaN]

Anyway, we won't loose them. Copy the attached file to your forum root (where index.php is) then go to this adress from your browser: http://yoursite.com/upgrade02.php

When it says "Done!", then remove the file; your portal will be okay. ;)

Thanks, SiNaN !!!  :D

It's working great, and my "Invalid argument supplied for foreach()" error is fixed as well.  :D

Now, if I can only get my avatars fixed.... LOL.  ::)

Thanks again. I really like this portal.

Glad you solved and liked it. If you are having a problem about not a mod, but forum; you can start a topic in 1.x Support Board. ;)

@asudhakar,
You should be able to upload version 2.04 of Simple Portal to your website, and then install/update to that version, it will update your Simple Portal Version from 2.02 to 2.04, its unlikely that you have made any changes to the core features which it edits, so the update should work. If you have any problems with the updator then you can ask here.

Updating between versions, is included in each new version of the mod. ;)
