Glad you like it, I find it much more functional as well. ;)

You should be able to set this out to 30

//How many day in future should be shown in the events on today? (If you disable today nothing will work ;D)
$eventes_future = 5;

The first thing I did was to set that to 30.  I wonder if you'd know how I can get it to show future birthdays?

I posted a note at simpleportal.net about a glitch I seem to have found, where not all events are being displayed.

Thanks for the link - that's one cool calendar block.

For original post see: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=227599.msg2003956#msg2003956

I dropped the 3 SP tables from my DB before attempting another 2.2 install.

The problem re-occurred, :( with a similar error message:

You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '(4) NOT NULL ,
`force_view` tinyint(2) NOT NULL default '0',

File: /home/content/x/x/x/xxxxxxxx/html/forum/Packages/temp/install1-1.php
Line: 784

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.8, while your database is at version 1.1.1. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

Hi guys, I'm still looking for help for my issue a few posts up. Please? My members want their portal back! :)

Can you pm me an admin account to check it?

Thanks for the offer Blue Dream, and as much as I'd love the help, I run a private forum and I can't give you access.

What else could I be doing to fix this?

Edit: Not sure if this helps but I successfully installed 2.2 on my 2.0 RC1 test forum. It's on the same hosting server but runs it's own DB. I've noticed it's running php5 whereas my 1.1.8 is on php4. Would php4 be causing this?

Blinker

Managed to get 2.2 installed on my localhost test forum that uses Vertigo. I have a feeling this has something to do with MySQL now, not php.

My live forum is on v4 for php and MySQL, whereas my localhost is on v5 for both.

Please can someone help?

BTW I noticed that 2.2 adds two extra tables to the DB - functions and parameters.

Smoky "Rider" Blue

you might want to ask your host to up the version of your php Blinker..  ;)

Excellent MOD, folks. Nice, clean and extremely easy to use and configure. We switched to this MOD after about 2 months playing with TinyPortal which unfortunately did not meet our expectations.

FYI, our SMF version is 1.1.8.

Thanks again! :)

minos

there's a way to select just a few boards from boardnews block?

thanks

OK, after a few hours testing, here is an update!

We've disabled all the forum integrations for this MOD as we don't require them. On the portal page (front page), we have calendar and forum staff block as well as the main custom HTML article enabled. That's all.

SMF version is 1.1.8 and the theme is helios_multi11final.

The screen capture of the issue is attached.

The following browsers behave correctly:
Safari 3.xx (Windows and OS X), Firefox 3.xx (Windows/OS X/Linux), IE 8 (Compatibility mode DISABLED)

The following browsers have issues:
Camino 1.6.7 (OS X), IE 8 (Compatibility mode ENABLED)

As you know, there is a problem with IE 8 and SMF as discussed in this forum. So, we need to enable this option. Or, as suggested by someone else,  this line can also be added to index.template.php file (<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />).

IF, we check off the "Maintenance Mode" for the MOD, things are back to normal!

Any suggestions, please?

EDIT #1 ---> Looks like this issue has been already reported here http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=227599.msg2003227#msg2003227

EDIT #2 ---> When the portal is in "Maintenance Mode", the Admin or Global Moderators don't have this issue using any browsers.

EDIT #3 ---> (FINAL!), we decided to uninstall this MOD as well. However, I leave my comment as a reference in case the developer/s would like to fix the issues.

As one general suggestion, which in fact applies to the majority of MODs out there, please .... PLEASE ... allow a complete cleanup after uninstalling your MODS. Considering the size of MySQL databases, even 1 MB data is too much when the MOD is no longer installed. Thanks for your attention.

Might as well post this over here too:
Can anybody think of a reason why when I put html in an html block all I get is the title bar? Existing blocks are working, new ones give me only the title bar. Even when I copy and paste the code from a working existing block the new block still gives me only the title bar.
Thanks

EDIT: I also can't edit existing blocks. I just tried and reduced it to only the title bar. This is brand new. I was playing with gadgets earlier today and they worked. I have changed nothing at all and there are no errors. Previews don't work either.

EDIT: If it's any clue I have a bunch of errors in my Apache log:
http://gregnmary.gotdns.com:8080/index.php?action=spadmin;area=blocks;sa=edit
[Thu Apr 16 23:47:40 2009] [error] [client 192.168.1.1] File does not exist: /srv/www/htdocs/\\\\\\"http:, referer: http://gregnmary.gotdns.com:8080/index.php?action=spadmin;area=blocks;sa=edit
[Thu Apr 16 23:48:35 2009] [error] [client 192.168.1.1] File does not exist: /srv/www/htdocs/\\"http:, referer:

Another EDIT: Alright folks, see those extra slashes that I just now noticed in the Apache errors above. They are being added when I either preview or add the block.
1> copy from source and paste into block editor.

2> Click either preview, add or edit the block.

3>extra slashes are spontaneously inserted into the code I pasted, seemingly after = signs and before " marks.

4>If I just click preview several times and build up these groups of several rogue slashes each and then manually backspace them all out and click edit the block works. If I manually edit them out without building up the groups they come back. It's possible I'm missing one before they become obvious by building several up :o

Somebody impress the livin hell outta me and tell me why this is so

Does simpleportal have a feature that allows you to link to a certain article category?  And then clicking it lists all the articles that are in that category?  Seems to be the only thing I'd want that it doesn't seem to have already but maybe I'm just missing it

That would be me but I am still trying to find a way to fix it. I spent a lot of time and love the Portal, I customized the Blocks, and my members all love it. I have issues in IE7 and IE8. Someone is trying to help me find a solution now and I will report back her if I get it fixed.

R.Bourne

I just checked your web site with Safari and I was surprised to see the same exact problem with IE. The developer/s should certainly fix this as it's a big show-stopper.

As I mentioned before, I decided to uninstall the Portal as I had a feeling that this is going to take some time to get fixed.

Tiribulus

I'm not having this issue either with IE7 or 8 with or without compatibility mode as either admin or regular user. I'm not trying to minimize it for you guys, but unless you can reproduce it on my site I can't make it happen. I don't know.

Thankfully, your site appears to be working fine. Good for you :)

I uninstalled it already so I really don't care but I compared your site with Filipina's and noticed couple of things:

1) On all message forums, you have this portal.css as stylesheet but not on Filipina's!

2) I think it might have something to do with the theme that you're using. Maybe, if you switch to default SMF, we could duplicate this issue. Then again, maybe not! Either case, I am out of here :D
