I also use the Karma Description Mod. Will that cause a problem with this mod?

[SiNaN]

I do not think so. It just effects the post function.

It installed with no problems. :). Just one more question... Is there a way to "exclude" staff from this so it only ups regular members Karma when they post or make a new topic? Also, maybe the ability to limit it to only upping karma on certain boards?

Reason why I ask is, my forum has a section for just staff so I wouldnt want their karma being upped every single time they posted or made a new topic in there. It should probably also only be used as an incentive to get members to post. (I have one staff member who averages 200 posts a day - their karma doesnt need to be upped 200+  day..lol)

After installation of this mod it appears that under "Features and Options - Karma" there is a third section added. There are two check boxes and two fill-in boxes, however, there is no text next any of them to indicate what they are for.

Should work on it. Maybe I'll add an exclude groups feature.

Package only makes the change for English Language.

It would be great if you could have it exclude certain groups :).

hi sinan anyway to disable giving of karma positive or negative.. I just like to activate you automatic karma without users giving each other positive/negative karma

Subs-Post.php

Find and Delete:

&& $modSettings['karmaMode'] != '0'

There are two, delete both of them.

SiNaN, I think a good way to add options to this is to add a variable to the Manage Boards area to set the amount of karma to give on posts and topics. If set to 0, it's disabled.

That, I think, would be easier than having an exclude boards or specific boards option.

(Plus, I want that kind of functionality for my own site with this mod, it would work beautifully in the new plan I have for it. ;))

This is an EXCELLENT idea and would go well with being able to exclude certain member groups (hint hint...hehehe).

Have a good holiday. Looking forward to the updated mod. :)

Any chance of an SQL script that wil update all members karma based on all posts and topics since the start and not from when the mod was applied? Thanks :-)

Nice idea. I'm looking for that functionality also.

PAPABEAR

Very nice. Thanks.

Is there a way to make it adjust people's karma to reflect the number of post counts and topics created they already have?

The new update for the mod is available now. I tired to include everything that could be needed. Have fun.

Eliana Mod

This mod basically gives good/bad karma automatically on creation/removal of post/topic. With the version 2.0 named "Eliana Mod" now it is board based and it includes a *re-count automatic karma* feature which updates the automatic karma points as the mod was installed from the start. The package includes an upgrade feature from the Automatic Karma 1.0 mod. Here are the features noted in a detailed way:

  • An ultimate admin panel allows you to set every possible setting for the mod
  • A settings to completely disable the feature
  • Ability to disable or set the values and exclude groups for each board
  • Supports both "Default" and "Local" setting for each board
  • Techincally seperates it from regular karma, doesn't touch karma at all
  • Feature to re-count the automatic karma points
  • Excluding groups from gaining karma automatically for default and board based settings
  • Supports addition of good/bad karma on topic/post creation/removal

Mod is named after the SMF Support Specialist Eliana Tamerin.
