Moderation Center Bug in SMF2.0Beta3

On my forum, I have just two accounts registered, a regular user and the admin.  Although he does not have permition to access it, my regular user has the menu option to get into the moderation center.  Once he is in there, he seems to have no restrictions.  He can read, delete and post moderator notes.  He can view Moderation log, warning log and see watched users.  He appears to have the options to approve/unapprove posts and topics but I did not have any posts on there just now to test that with.

Both these accounts have only be logged on from the same computer. The regular user was created via the admin in Registration menu, with no email being sent.

I hope that all makes sence to you.  I may have just missed an option somewhere, but I do not think so.

Below is a copy of my Group Permissions report.

**EDIT** Group permissions report removed as was a mess, and permission report below should cover it all.

if you go to their profile and 'view permissions', does it say which group is granting this permission?

I have worked out what was causing it.  My regular user was marked as 'May moderate this board' for one one of the boards.  When I removed this, he lost access to the moderation centre.

Is this working at intended; as Regular user does not have the permition to 'Access the Moderation Centre'?

metallica48423

it is intended behavior: if they can moderate anywhere they'll have access to the moderation center -- though they'll be limited by the rest of their permissions as to what exactly they can do.

This is also technically true for this board, though the devs have hacked it to not count our test board toward that.

I am not sure what you mean.

I had a test board set up, just to play around with and test things.  That was why he had moderation privilages on that board.  I have taken away the 'he may moderate this board' permision, he can still do most moderation things now, just not the 'little' things it mentions if I click on the question mark.

I think it would be a good idea to add to the help for the 'may moderate this board' permission; that it gives access to the moderation centre.

As of right now, the help hasn't been updated for 2.0.  But it would most likely be in the docs, not the help.

Its not technically wrong -- you are after all giving someone the permission to moderate a board.  Thats my personal opinion though -- others may not share it :P
