yea, its like a Key .. shows different member groups and there color.

i really don't know if there is a mod for that, if you want it bad enough just add it yourself. i think Boardindex.template.php would be the file to edit.

thats what i want
except one problem, it only shows member groups online, is there a way i can leave it showing all the membergroups so ppl know what they are and not just when they are online?

This has now been made a core feature in 2.0.

Go Admin > Current Theme > Show group key on board index

According to the link in your sig, you're using 1.1. which would be why.

That's the mod you want. It shows membergroups you specify, whether members of those groups are online or not.
